Olbph Home Welcome to the OTIS - Oklahoma's Talking Information Service
NOTICE TO LISTENERS:
Hello Everyone,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you
who have been listening to OTIS and providing us with your comments on what we
are developing.
In the next few weeks,
you may experience difficulty in accessing our station as we are in the
process of installing three new computers which have been bought for us by our
friends of the library group, OSLS, Oklahoman’s for Special Library Services.
If you find we are not on the air it probably is not your computer but
the silence is our way of letting you know that new and
improved service is on the way very soon.
So please check back with us often, this interruption is only
temporary
Thank you so much,
Jay Doudna
OTIS Program Coordinator
Thank you for joining us at OTIS. As you may know by now, Oklahoma’s Talking Information Service is a work in progress. The Oklahoma Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and Visual Services is pleased to be offering this service. The programming on OTIS is intended for those persons who are blind, or who have difficulty reading standard print or have a physical disability that makes it difficult for them to hold a book, newspaper or magazine.
We are still working on it; that is why it is called a work in progress. This is what Jay Doudna, the Program Coordinator says, “I think of OTIS as a radio station. The only difference is that we are on the Internet.”
Most programs change every hour. As we develop our programs and make changes, we will make every effort to keep our program schedule up to date. It is very important to us that you give us feedback about our programming. You can contact Jay Doudna, the Program Coordinator at 522-0520 if you are in the Oklahoma City area or toll free at 800-523-0288 or by email at jdoudna@okdrs.gov.
This is only the beginning. More newspapers, talk shows and interview programs are in the near future. We look forward to you coming back here often. Thank you and keep listening from all of us at OTIS.
